WPG Partners
The WPG Partners team has been investing in the Small and Microcap markets for 25+ years with almost 20 years investing together as a team focused on U.S. small cap equities. The team has an active management philosophy with deep fundamental roots in traditional Value focused sectors. The team prides itself on an informational advantage gained through original research.
We believe in intensive research that begins with management discussion and progresses through financial screening, valuation, and catalyst identification. We look to distinguish ourselves through a contrarian view.
Our process focuses on identifying underfollowed, fundamentally strong overlooked companies. Through our extensive original research, stock screens, and industry contacts we look to identify small-cap companies that have earned above their cost of capital over their life cycle and are undergoing, in our view, positive change. We pride ourselves on our deep fundamental original research that includes 700-800 company meetings annually with direct executive level engagement to better understand capital allocation and strategy.
We believe small and microcap stocks provide the highest return opportunities for industries going through a positive change. As a dedicated small-cap team we have a full menu of product offerings including a traditional Small Cap Value strategy, a dedicated Microcap strategy focused on companies with less than $1 billion in market capitalization, as well as a Concentrated Small Cap strategy with greater than 40% of the portfolio represented in the top 10 holdings on average.
